NOLWASCO is an institution registered as a limited company mandated to provide water and sanitation services to the residents of Sultan Hamud, Emali and Kasikeu Township areas. The towns are located along the Mombasa road in Makueni county, part of Sultan Hamud and Emali Towns fall within both Kajiado and Makueni Counties while Kasikeu town lies within Makueni County.

The company supplies water to the towns through a two (2) inch PVC pipe line branching off from the existing 550mm diameter gravity main pipe line from Nol-Turesh springs in Loitokitok, which takes bulk water to Machakos, Kajiado and Mavoko towns. Overtime, population pressure in the target towns has increased the water demand. Therefore, NOLWASCO seeks to address the problem through the implementation of the subproject. The scopes of works include extension of water supply infrastructure in Sultan Hamud, Emali and Kasikeu towns with an ultimate target of connecting 4,000 IWCs, 2 water tanks and 8 public water kiosks.
