Narrative Description of Project:
KTSSP became effective on August 22, 2011 US$ 300 million equivalent to the Republic of Kenya. The Project Development Objectives (PDOs) are to: (a) increase the efficiency of road transport along the Northern Corridor and the Tanzania-Kenya-Sudan road corridor; (b) enhance aviation safety and security to meet international standards; and (c) improve the institutional arrangements and capacity in the transport sector
Description of Actual Services:
EMC provided technical support to KTSSP from 2012-2013 by reviewing the ESMP and RAP for the construction of the four interchanges at Nakuru-Nyahururu turnoff; Nakuru-Njoro turnoff; Mau Summit-Kisumu turnoff and Ahero-Kisii Turnoff; conducted field supervision mission to evaluate compliance with ESMP and advised KeNHA and World Bank on adequate steps to mitigate adverse impacts.
