Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) is the renewable energy company of Fortescue Metals Group (Fortescue), an Australia-headquartered global leader in resources development and production. FFI is seeking to develop a Green Energy Project within Kenya. The Project aims to deliver more than 2.1 GW of electricity from geothermal resources, equating to approximately 800 tonnes per day (TPD) of green hydrogen, and 4,200 TPD of green ammonia for export to domestic and international markets.
Description of Actual Services Provided by Your Staff Within the Assignment:
FFI contracted a Kenyan based firm, EMC Consultants Limited to undertake a Marine Ecological Baseline Study (MEBS) for the proposed project to gain an understanding of the existing environment, including identification of biodiversity values and ecological systems, relevant to both the terrestrial and marine environments of the study area. This would allow for adequate assessment of potential project related environmental impacts.
